Stephanie Metz

The surreal quality of Stephanie Metz's work is mesmerizing. Her ability to capture the female form in her Figurative Studies series invites us to experience a side of felting that goes well beyond the cute little creatures we are oh so used to seeing in the felting world. Her work has a rare sense of humanity and depth that inspires us to push on and broaden our felting subjects. She created her series Overbred Creatures "to prompt a dialog on the responsibility people have to the biological world."

Well she certainly has our attention! Keep up the excellent work Stephanie! We look forward to seeing your sculptures in person one day!

Stephanie Carswell

Brammble loves the work of Stephanie Carswell Stephanie is a well-known fiber artist located in Dorset, England. Her sculptures are reminiscent of brilliant taxidermy… but without the guilt! The way she subtly exaggerates the features of the animals she depicts creates a unique and enjoyable style all her own. We love it!

Want to try your hand at some of Stephanie's designs? Check out her kits over at Hawthorne Handmade.

Stephanie also runs and curates Hawthorne Contemporary Craft Gallery. We'll have to check it out next time we're across the pond! It looks like a really cool place!
